๐Ÿ“š Ecklonia maxima (commonly known as sea bamboo) is a species of kelp, typically found along the southern Atlantic coast of Africa.


๐Ÿฉบ Kelp extracts were used as a source of iodine in the Western Cape traditional medicine.


๐Ÿšœ The species has high economic importance as it is harvested and used as a food additive (source of alginates) and agricultural supplement.
